Elizabeth's post sent me to Real Learning to Danielle Bean to Catholic Charlotte Mason to see a conversation about this from a long time ago. And in the process, I found Kim's recommendation of this book Letters from Father Christmas by JRR Tolkien. It looks so charming and in this house of Tolkien fans I know will be of interest. So I went from there to my county library system and requested the book. The internet is a blessing, especially since we will probably be snowed in tomorrow!
