I got there by looking up homework, which was a rabbit trail from Melissa Wiley's blog
Seems US kids are being loaded down with homework -- a bunch of psychologists think Too Much. They don't have time to live anymore. Hmm, maybe that's why they need those recesses and lunch breaks to SOCIALIZE.
Another good reason to homeschool and probably #1 for all my kids. They think regular school would be a giant waste of time.
School time: 6 hours
Commuting Time: 40- 60 minutes
Homework: 2 hours a day for 6th graders(!?)
About a 45 hour work week??
