This is one of my favorite rows of books in the house. The red one is my childhood copy of Winnie the Pooh. The three navy blue ones are my father's copy of the Divine Comedy picked up at a second-hand bookstore during his college days, I believe. The Fabre Life of the Spider was my grandfather's, and the Oxford book of Ballads belonged to my grandmother. The Icelandic sagas are my mother's, from when she was pursuing her college degree when I was a teenager.
I love the way they look, and what they represent, and what's inside the covers.
